Newport RFC are pleased to announce the signing of utility back Matt Bancroft. Matt joins us from Pontypridd after previously impressing for Bedwas.
Newport are currently struggling with availability at outside half and full back, so the signing is a timely boost as we head into the fixtures of 2023.
Head Coach Ty Morris is happy to have strengthened the squad – ‘I am really pleased that we can strengthen our team at this point in the season and bring in the quality and versatility that Matt offers. Matt’s ability to play at both 10 and 15 will add competition to the squad as well as giving us a different dimension in attack. I am really looking forward to working with Matt during 2023’.
Matt will be hoping to feature in the Newport squad for Saturday’s fixture against RGC. Kick off is 14:30 at Newport Stadium.
