Ioan Davies has left Newport RFC and retired from playing rugby.
Ioan has had dreadful bad luck with injuries in recent times and will focus on his career now he is fully qualified as a doctor.
Over 4 seasons either as a Dragons player or full time with Newport, Ioan appeared 46 times and scored 9 tries. His elusive running from full back, eye for the gap and all round ability on or off the ball made him one of the best players in the squad and a certainty on the team sheet.
We hope that given time, Ioan will be able to assist the squad in his new professional capacity and are sure that everyone associated with the club wishes him the very best for the future.
