Newport RFC are happy to announce that Deon Smith has joined the ‘Black & Ambers’ and will strengthen an already talented wing department. Deon has worked his way through the Dragons Academy and has now signed on the dotted line with the club.
A talented speedy winger, Deon will be competing with the likes of Elliot Frewen, Johnny Morris, Mathew Powell and Ryan Gardner for a wing spot or the coaches might use his talent at outside centre.
Ty Morris, head coach, is pleased to add more quality and firepower to his options. ‘We are really pleased to be adding Deon to our squad for the season. He has been involved at age grade rugby throughout the years and has represented The Dragons at regional level. His high standards and passion to progress have impressed us. We are looking forward to seeing Deon further develop and flourish playing regularly in the Premiership this season.
