In recent seasons Newport RFC have started a tradition of presenting players with club caps when they have played 100 games. This tradition has superseded the old tradition of club blazers and badges etc.
Many former players have seen the caps and inquired as to if they could purchase one, so on Friday evening at Rodney Parade a celebration presentation evening was held to award those players.
Oldest recipient Bryn Meredith gave an excellent speech as did club President Brian ‘BJ’ Jones. Youngest recipient and current squad hooker Henry Palmer received his cap from the season curtailed by Covid.
Mark Workman, Newport RFC Hall of Fame and current Team Manager, closed out the evening that was MC’ed by Director Kevin Jarvis.
