After a brilliant start to the season a fortnight ago when The Black & Ambers beat a strong Pontypool team at Rodney Parade in front of a big crowd, we now look North as we travel to face RGC. Like us, they have only played one league game so, again like us, they will be trying different players and combinations. Last season we played them at ‘home’ on a very wet and muddy Bedwas pitch and we managed a win but, in the return at Parc Eirias they got revenge with a bonus point win. They are a difficult side to beat and coach, Ceri Jones, will have them fine-tuned for this game.
Newport played some great rugby last game and hopefully will have the same attacking intent against the North Walians although, at this stage of the season, a win is probably more important than the style. Up front, Tyler Olding, Garin Harris and Kyle Tayler come into the starting fifteen while Che Hope, Jac Lloyd and Oli Andrew come into the backs. Carwyn Penny moves from 10 to 15 with the promising Jac Lloyd taking the outside half spot.
