NEWPORT v CARMARTHEN QUINS

Last Saturday Newport beat a good Aberavon team at a very cold and windy stadium earning a bonus point and consolidating their third place in the Indigo Premier League. The team and coaches know that they must take advantage of the home games to challenge the teams above them and also to claim a place in the league play-offs.

Carmarthen are not having a good season and sit last but one in the league but… they are now finding some form and have won their last two games.  They won away to Bridgend and secured a fine victory at home against Pontypool in difficult conditions in front of the TV cameras, They will not be lacking in confidence when they turn up on Saturday and the Black & Ambers can expect a stern test.

Once again the coaches make changes to the starting fifteen – four in the pack and four in the backs. A very interesting selection is Dai Richards on the wing as he starts his come-back after a long time out injured.
