The club was saddened to hear of the passing of John Marenghi as notified by his son Vincent on May 29th.
John had a long and happy life and was in his ninetieth year. He was a regular attendee at meetings of the Newport RFC Former Players Association. John played mostly for Newport RFC Extras and was a regular and popular member of the team.
The funeral will be held at St David’s RC Church on Cardiff Road on the 10th of July at 11:15, followed by Langstone Crematorium. Any players past or present would be most welcome to attend.
The wake will be held in the Bisley Suite at Rodney Parade from 14:00.
