Charlie Pritchard – He did his bit

Friends of Newport Rugby now have in stock this superb book outlining the life and career of Newport and Wales legend Charlie Pritchard who was tragically killed in WW1.

A Newport RFC player and captain who was a member of the famous Wales team that beat the 1905 New Zealand All Blacks, Charlie gave his life for his country whilst fighting for the British Army.

Charlie amassed an outstanding collection of rugby shirts during his career and these are still owned by the family and are currently on display in the RFU museum at Twickenham. This book written by rugby and WW1 expert Peter Jones tells the story of Charlie’s life, career, family and rugby whilst going into detail regarding each of the jerseys in this unique collection.

A must read for anyone with an interest in Newport RFC, Wales, Rugby Union or WW1.
