The club were devastated to receive the news yesterday that former Black & Amber, Alun Carter, has passed away.
Alun made 145 appearances for the club between 1990 and 1996 and was part of the team that secured promotion during the first season of league rugby in Wales.
Alan made such an impression in black and amber that he earned 2 caps for Wales, alongside fellow Newport flanker Glenn George.
Alun also represented Pontypool for many seasons before moving into coaching and rugby management where he was a part of the Wales set-up that secured the Grand Slam in 2005.
