Newport bolster scrum half options

With the retirement of Ryan James from first class rugby Newport RFC have a big hole to fill in the number 9 jersey, so recruitment of a quality replacement was high on the list of priorities.

Luke Crane makes the move to Newport from Bedwas and brings with him a wealth of premiership experience.  After coming through the ranks of the Dragons Academy Luke spent a brief time with Newport some years ago but returns to Rodney Parade as a proven performer at scrum half.

Head coach Ty Morris is pleased to have secured Luke’s signature. ‘Luke has been a consistent performer week after week in the premiership. With his pace and tempo he will be a huge threat to many teams this season.’

Welcome aboard!
