NEWPORT vs. LLANELLI

Newport go into Friday’s game knowing that a win would put them within striking distance of a top six position. With three wins behind them including a fine victory at Sardis Road, the squad is in a good place but memories of the away game against Llanelli should wipe away any complacency. They will be aware that they need to be at the top of their game against a dangerous Llanelli outfit.

The West Walians are having a mixed season but always play a fast open game and are capable of scoring from anywhere on the pitch.

The coaching team makes some squad changes including an interesting centre partnership of Jon Morris and Harry Griffiths. Elliot Ferriman takes his place on a very strong bench after a long period recovering from injury.

Newport: Dan Preece, Jamie Jeune, Garin Harris, Andrew Mann, Joe Bartllett, Rhodri Jones, Josh Reid, Rhys Jenkins, Luke Crane, Matt O’Brien, Elliot Frewen, Jon Morris, Harry Griffiths, Harri Lang, Llywarch Ap Myrddyn.
