BEDWAS vs. NEWPORT

Newport face a difficult task on Saturday when they head to the Bridge Field to face a team who will be determined to get a vital league win.  Bedwas have found victories hard to come by this season and need some points to start moving away from the ‘relegation zone’.  They will be going all out for that win to get their season back on track.

Although the Black & Ambers are enjoying a good season, they have lost their last two games and need to get back to winning ways to maintain their position in the top six.  Following a disappointing performance in the cup game against RGC, they played much better in the high-scoring loss to Cardiff.

The coaching team has rotated the squad this season and with conditions on Saturday likely to be very different to the wide, fast surface at Rodney Parade we could see a ‘horses for courses’ team selected.  A strong set of forwards has been selected in the matchday squad but injuries and unavailability have restricted the choice of the backs.

Newport: Dan Preece, Will Evans, Tom Piper, Joe Bartlett, Dan Partridge, Andrew Mann, Kyle Tayler, Mathew Reed, Ryan James, Haydn Simons, Elliot Frewen, Haydn Palmer, Chay Smith, Andy Evans, David Richards.

Replacements:  Henry Palmer, Lewis Smout, Josh Skinner, Morgan Burgess, Tom Lucas, Curtis Ayling, Duan Thomas.
