2018/2019 Principality Premiership
Newport 22 v 15 Quins
16 December 2018 - Rodney Parade, Newport
Carmarthen Quins

Match Preview

After four tough away trips Newport will be pleased to be back at Rodney Parade for a vital league game against Carmarthen Quins.  Although getting two good victories on the road the coaches will be disappointed that the team didn’t show the consistency that they are trying to achieve.  A win on Sunday would get them back on track for a top-six place.

The Quins have lost their last four games, so they will also be looking for a win to end their run.  Like us they lack a bit of consistency and have lost a few games that you would expect them to win but they like to play a fast, open game and can beat anyone when they hit form.  We can expect a high-scoring game played in good conditions.

Once again the coaching team make several changes with captain, Rhys Jenkins, in the starting line-up together with Dan Preece, Tom Piper, Andy Mann, Matt O'Brien and Geraint Watkin.  Haydn Palmer takes a place on the bench after being out injured for several months.
