The Newport team head to North Wales to face an RGC 1404 outfit who are in fine form. On our previous visit 79 points were scored in an incident filled game with RGC getting the win and Newport getting two bonus points. After meeting them only once last season and once the season before we are due to meet three times this season with home and away league games and a home game in the first round of the Welsh Cup. Victory has gone to the home team on both previous games and lots of points have been scored but with heavy rain forecast Saturday’s game could be different.
The Black & Ambers were disappointed to lose their last match with Aberavon having the better of the game until the home side made a storming comeback leaving the Wizards hanging on to secure victory by three points. They need to start at Parc Eirias as they finished at Rodney Parade.
Once again the coaching team has had to make changes due to injury and unavailability. Promising young player, David Richards, moves to full-back with Elliot Frewen returning to the wing spot. Tom Lucas gets his first start after making an impact at scrum half last week. Dan Partridge makes a welcome return after injury and takes a place on the bench.
