2018/2019 Principality Premiership
Newport 35 v 38 Aberavon
07 October 2018 - Rodney Parade, Newport

Match Preview

After a poor performance last week-end the Black & Ambers have a lot to prove on Sunday.  After a very good start to the season with three wins and a narrow loss they came down to earth with a bump against a Llanelli side who showed tenacity and spirit. Needless offences meant three yellow cards and discipline must improve.

Compare this to an Aberavon team who are going really well with a run of three wins against good teams. Newport will have to show a big improvement to get a win.

The team selected has a settled look but young David Richards gets a start on the wing after showing well last Sunday.  The replacements see a welcome return for Matt Prosser with Mathew Reed also returning after injury.  Ryan Bates starts on the bench after making an impact when he came on.

Newport: Lewis Smout, Will Evans, Garin Harris, Andrew Mann, Joe Bartlett, Josh Skinner, Kyle Tayler, Rhys Jenkins, Geraint Watkin, Matt O’Brien, David Richards, Tom Pascoe, Chay Smith, Jon Morris, Geraint O’Driscoll.
