After the disappointing end to their last game Newport must quickly prepare for the next game against Swansea. Although we’ve all heard the expression ‘one game at a time’ it will be hard when selecting the team for Tuesday not to think about next Saturday’s semi-final game against Llandovery at Talbot Athletic Ground, Aberavon. But league position is still important and a home game against one of our traditional rivals is a game to look forward to. The Black & Ambers picked up a few bumps and bruises on Friday and, once again, the squad will be stretched and will probably need to be bolstered by some permit players.
Swansea are not having the best of seasons and currently lie 13th in the league table, losing heavily to Ebbw Vale and Pontypridd in their last two games. They probably see this game as an opportunity to get a much-needed win. They have good foundations at St. Helens and will soon be making progress up the table.
Both teams like to play a fast, open game and we usually see high-scoring, entertaining games when they play each other.
The Newport squad will be selected after fitness checks.
Kick-off: 7:30 pm.
