Llanelli make the trip to Rodney Parade with a run of three league losses behind them. They will be keen to put an end to this run and the home side should not be complacent. The West Wales outfit have shown in the recent past that their brand of expansive, attacking rugby can punish any side that lets its guard down. We can be sure that they will not be at the wrong end of the table for long.
Newport, on the other hand, are sitting comfortably in fourth place with a game in hand on most of the other teams. Last week’s postponed game at Bedwas denied them the chance of adding to their 4-game unbeaten run and they will be pleased to get out on the pitch after this enforced break. The weather forecast is good and we are sure to see a fast, open game from two sides who like to move the ball.
With players returning after injuries there is now real competition for places throughout the squad. Chay Smith comes in at outside centre after his spell with Wales Sevens in Australia and New Zealand. John Lavender and Morgan Burgess take their places on the replacement bench after time out due to injury.
